A sense of normality of displacement

It’s Thursday, which means we highlight one story of our photo exhibition, “6 years Iraq - Stories of displacement and refuge”. Today we want to present the story of this elderly man and why he is strolling around the camp every day searching for some normality.

A sense of normality amidst camp conditions is hard to sustain. For the older population, who knew vibrant and active lives before camp, routine can help to maintain this. Come rain or shine, with the help of his cane, he takes a lap around camp once daily— stopping every hundred meters to rest and find the energy to walk further, observing those around him and
his surroundings.

If you want to read up on the routine of this man or are interested in seeing more stories of the people we serve and our work of the last years, visit our photo exhibition (https://lnkd.in/dZZCDZb)
