During the summer months in Western Sahara, the temperature can reach over 50°C, making the living conditions of refugees exceptionally harsh. Even more, the Saharawi refuge community reports that being confronted with such high temperatures, maintenance of the personal hygiene routines is especially challenging - nursing mothers with young babies being the most vulnerable group.
Addressing these concerns, we at Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation, together with our partner 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐈 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐃 and the 𝐒𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭, have started a pilot project across the Sahrawi refugee camps in Western Sahara – 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘩𝘺𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴.
We are humbled to report that together with SHAI FUND, we have delivered 60 000 hygiene and cleaning items worth about 300 000 USD to the Saharawi Red Crescent that will be further distributed directly to the young mothers in need.
