Under the Towards a Green Iraq (TAGI) project, Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation (BHHF) aims to increase knowledge and awareness of climate concerns and the local environment by educating teachers and students at select schools and camps on how to cultivate and care for local tree seeds, connecting students with natural elements through school ground greening initiatives and fostering healthy connections with the environment for positive health, well-being, social and educational outcomes.
Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation in collaboration with KOKAR and Avyar volunteering groups, initiated the Earth Day initiative from April 19 to April 23, 2024. With a focus on the theme "Planet vs. Plastics," they distributed and planted 30,000 Albizia trees across Kirkuk and Erbil governorates, enriching education and fostering sustainability among the communities.
Additionally, On April 28, 2024, BHHF in collaboration with TDH Italy, hosted a dynamic recycling workshop in Basra. The event aimed to cultivate a culture of responsible waste management and environmental stewardship.
With a turnout of over 15 participants, including 10 females and 5 males, the workshop delved into the critical importance of waste management practices and their profound impact on the environment. Through interactive discussions and informative presentations, attendees gained valuable insights into the significance of recycling and its role in mitigating environmental degradation.
One of the highlights of the session was an engaging activity led by BHHF, showcasing the step-by-step process of household waste recycling. Participants learned firsthand about the practical benefits of recycling and its potential to contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.
